El Mercadito, a partnership between La Casa Norte and Nourishing Hope, serves Chicago residents struggling with hunger. The partnership between the two organizations is an innovative collaboration created from the mutual belief that access to nutritious food is a basic human right.

- Nutritious groceries including fresh produce, dairy and meat.
- Access to Nourishing Hope’s comprehensive social services including public benefits assistance, job search training, and mental health counseling.
- Access to La Casa Norte’s information and referral services.

Picking up food for someone else? Please fill out a form called a “Proxy.” It needs to be completely filled out and signed by both you and your proxy. We only need these forms for monthly distribution pickups.

3rd Thursday of the month: 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. for Online Market pickup
Social services drop-in hours: Monday: 11am – 2pm
El Mercadito serves 150 households in total each day — 75 monthly express orders & 75 monthly choice orders
This location only provides monthly pick-ups. Please visit our Sheridan Market for your bonus produce pick-up, provided once a month.
